It was time for me to head into my local Ulta Beauty store and restock my make up bag. I was in need of a primer, new foundation and concealer. Ulta Beauty had everything I needed and more! Here is my Ulta Beauty Makeup review of the new make up products I picked up.

Ulta Beauty Advisors
The first bit of advice and Ulta Beauty makeup review I want to share is to ask for help! The Ulta Beauty Advisors are very knowledgeable and friendly. With the help and advice from Bryan, my gorgeous Ulta Beauty Advisor, I was able to find some amazing new products to tryout and review.
With a list of new products I wanted to try, I shared with Bryan what I was looking for and why. He spent a generous amount of time with me matching my skin tone and type to the products I had asked about. Don’t be shy or uncomfortable about having an advisor put samples on your face or hand. It is really helpful to have someone else match a foundation or concealer to your skin tone.

This Quote sums it up for me! I’m going to take a quick detour and go off on a bit of a tangent. Since I turned 52 this year I have started on a new journey to find my true self! Silly that it took me this long, but sometimes you have to go down a bad road or make a few wrong turns to finally reach your destination. Here’s what I mean. I’ve spent so many years being unhappy in my own skin. I compared myself to others and too often, I came up short. Not pretty enough, thin enough, successful enough or smart enough. You get what I’m saying, that list could go on and on. Getting to that authentic, true & peaceful place in your life, no matter how long it takes, is worth it. We all just have to keep driving forward!
Truthfully, I would never have posted a photo of myself “anywhere” without make up on! My new journey with blogging and sharing has really given me more confidence to be myself. Stick with me here, because we are now on to my Ulta Beauty makeup review!

First on my list for my Ulta Beauty makeup review is Smashbox Photo Finish Super Light Smooth & Blur Primer. I have never used a primer before, but my co-worker Melissa who is a self described make-up guru told me a primer is a must! Smashbox Smooth & Blur primer comes in this Super Light finish and a Tinted finish.
I chose the transparent Super Light finish that works with combination skin. It is a super lightweight, transparent gel that smoothes skin and creates a soft-focus finish. It gets better, as it also has Vitamin C & a peptide blend that protects skin from environmental pollutants, damage and stress! Just apply a sheer layer with fingertips before you start your makeup. Wear alone or under makeup.

Next up on my Ulta Beauty makeup review is It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+. My co-worker, Melissa, also suggested this full coverage cream and I was really excited to try it out.
Fun & inspirational fact about It Cosmetics. Jamie Kern Lima, Co-Founder and CEO of IT Cosmetics, is a Washington State University graduate and the first woman to hold a CEO title in L’Oréal’s 108-year history. She was recently named to the Forbes 60 Most Successful Self-Made Women’s list. This gave me even more of a reason to try out this brand!
At 52, I have lots of well earned age spots and a bit of sun damage. Consequently, I try to stay out of the sun these days but the damage has already been done. Additionally, I wanted a foundation that would cover these spots, but not be too heavy.
With out a doubt, the CC+ Cream did just that! I am using the Light color and applied it with a make up brush. The fact that it has a SPF of 50+ with UVA/UVB broad-spectrum sunscreen and was developed with plastic surgeons to aid with anti-aging sold it for me!
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer
Another NEW product in my Ulta Beauty makeup review is an under eye concealer. With the suggestion from Bryan, I went with the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer . Bryan matched my skin tone to the Light Natural (N) color.
A little goes a long way with concealer and you want to make sure you blend it in completely with a foam applicator or your finger tips. I of course have a hard time with the “a little goes a long way” mantra! Since this brand gives full coverage, is highly pigmented and waterproof I need to use a lot less next time.
And on top of that, It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer was also developed with plastic surgeons. Infused with proprietary Expression Proof Technology, plus anti-aging peptides, vitamins, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, this concealer improves the appearance of wrinkles and effectively conceals the look of skin imperfections including dark circles, bags, redness, hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, age spots and discoloration. WOW! It should make me look FABULOUS!!
Mac False Lashes Maximizer & Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

These two products are restocks and had t be included in my Ulta Beauty makeup review I am addicted to “big lashes” and sometimes can go over the top with the amount I layer on. Using a lash maximizer helps with that. The MAC False Lashes Maximizer pumps up your lashes and primes them for your mascara. The primer helps to condition, prime, and enhance each lash before mascara application. Yes, it goes on white, but dries to a semi-clear base.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
That really is the name of this mascara! Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is the #1 selling mascara in America, so they must be doing something right This mascara is a dream if you are a mascara addict like me!
